Go outside and play!!!

I think it's time to introduce some new fabrics! It's that time of year, for parties, dinners, luncheons, you name it...and there probably outside. I cannot believe that it's almost the end of May!!!  I don't know about you, but my outside furniture hates me right now. So neglected all winter and spring, with a nice layer of dirt and pollen. Two words: Spray paint and fabric. That's all it takes.

I found these great options for outdoor furniture on Fabric.com.

These are impressive!

If you've shopped for rugs in the past...forever..you know it can be quite a frustrating experience. Finding the right color, or colors, is only the beginning, and then you always have to sell family members in order to actually pay for one! A lot of designers like to start with the rug as the inspiration for the rest of the room..it's just easier that way.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found these amazing rugs at West Elm..I'm super impressed! I hope this helps any of you on a rug hunt out there!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Lulu Powers and Lonny

If you haven't noticed, I've been feeling a little uninspired lately. I really do enjoy the eclectic, boho, mixed with city chic style that we see in Lonny, Rue, and all the other home magazines, but I just feel like I want to see something new. I'm sure I'm alone in this one! Maybe I'm just going through a burn out spell. I did like the latest issue of Lonny, but I really loved the article on Lulu. How fun is she?!

My favorite two things were the fun fruity ice cubes, and the black and white striped curtains! I love the idea of using black and white curtains outside on a porch.

Love Story: Two wingbacks and a table

We recently recieved two wing back chairs from my husband's grandmother after she passed away. I planned on reupholstering them and putting them in the typical place..the living room. Then I started doing a little hunting, and have truely fallen in love with wing back chairs at the dining room table! I always wanted two cozy chairs for the ends of our table, and now I have a plan...here's my inspiration...

Is this from Lonny? Someone help, I found it from Pinterest.

Also really like the nailhead trim..hmmmm.

I know this one was passed around a lot recently, but man I like those stripes!

My dining room is my next summer project, unless a baby decides to show up..then it will be a nursery!

Are you a vignette person?

My husband's not. Which is fine with me..I think I would be a little weirded out if he 'just loved vignettes.' I do love them, probably a little too much. He thinks it adds too much clutter.  It's like an art, the perfectly placed books, arrangements, candle, frames, and a figurine. You really have to know what you're doing to pull off that 'it only took me two seconds to throw it together' really cool look.

My vignettes.

I'm still mastering the art.
Here are some real masters....

Have a wonderful weekend, trying to jump back on the blogging wagon! See you on Monday..maybe sooner!

Bring in the Bold:Color Moods!

Oh gosh people, I am sorry. I just have had the hardest time posting lately. I haven't had anything exciting happening in my home, and I haven't seen anything really inspiring and exciting to share (I haven't been looking, I've been busy away from the computer, honestly). I needed something to shake me out of this dreary coma I've been in. Possibly a good shock of bold color in my face would do the trick?
