A DIY Island Starburst Mirror

We're making changes to our Master bedroom, and we have a picture collage wall that was on the list for a change. I've had this simple round mirror that has been begging for something to really make it stand out...so off to work I went.

Here's the story on how my mirror got an island starburst makeover!

Steps I took:

Cut bamboo twigs and skewers to size...4 long ones on each side to balance out the mirror
Hot glues them around the edges
Wrapped and glued rope/twine to cover the edges
Spray painted with primer
Spray painted with white paint

and DONE!

The mirror has an island feel, because of the irregular bamboo sticks and the rope, similar to something you might see at a beachy hotel on the coast.

So pleased with the result. I hope you have a wonderful Friday!!

Great addition to your wall! Found you via pretty pink tulips. Familiar stomping grounds too as I spend time in Greenwood!

Besides being eco-friendly and made in Canada, vinyl privacy fences have many advantages over wood in addition to being affordable and easy to maintain. Vinyl fencing stands up to harsh Canadian winters, and will not splinter or rot like wood. It is also flexible and easy to keep clean. White picket vinyl fences do not require any harsh chemical treatments in order to keep termites and other pests at bay.
